Friends, neighbors, and supporters,
When I think about the future of Blacksburg, I imagine a thriving, prosperous town filled with pride in its neighborhoods, schools, and sense of community.
With any luck, Blacksburg will continue to be an intellectually and culturally stimulating town with a wide range of employment and housing opportunities, anchored by a vibrant downtown and connected to the world through new technologies. It will be a town that has experienced economic recovery, valued its natural resources and cultural heritage, benefited from a sense of regionalism, and engaged its citizens with open, transparent government.
I am running for Blacksburg Town Council because I want to be a part of that future, but I need your help. Here are a few ways you can support my bid for Blacksburg Town Council:
- Donate. Find out how to contribute.
- Volunteer. I need help knocking on doors, distributing fliers and yard signs, passing out campaign literature at the polls, and hosting house parties. Send me a message if you want to help.
- Show your support. Help increase my campaign’s visibility with a yard sign or bumper sticker. Email me your street address, and someone will deliver these materials to you.
- Write an endorsement. Whether you are a long-time neighborhood organizer or an old classmate of mine, I could use your support on my website and on The Roanoke Times opinions page. Contact me for details.
- “Like” my page on Facebook. Stay in touch with the campaign.
In less than six weeks, voters will pick our leaders on the Blacksburg Town Council. With your support, I can make sure they hear about our shared vision and values.
Sincerely,
Michael Sutphin
Candidate for Blacksburg Town Council
